Ravens to face Houston's backup QB

When the Ravens play Houston on Sunday, they’ll be catching the Texans as they transition to backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels. Houston starting quarterback Matt Schaub suffered a knee injury last Sunday and is out of commission for about four weeks.

But in Rosenfels, the Ravens aren’t getting someone who is either raw or rusty. He does bring some experience and success to the position. Last year, he played in nine games and started in five (4-1) for the Texans. This year, he had one start when Schaub fell ill. In that game, Rosenfels nearly pulled off an upset of Indianapolis but Rosenfels’ two fumbles and an interception late in the game helped the Colts rally in the fourth quarter and then overtime to pull out a 31-27 win.

Schaub had been on a roll and the Texans were riding a 3-0 winning streak until he hurt his knee against Minnesota. In the two games prior to getting hurt against the Vikings, Schaub had completed 85 percent of his passes and had tossed five TD passes and no interceptions.

Just saw a breaking blurb saying the Ravens have locked uo Ray Lewis to a 5-year deal with a $16 million signing bonus.

Joe,
Thanks for writing. I see some of those reports too. Nothing confirmed so far.

They should give him a 4 year contract, 2 to play and two as the next defensive coach. We all know that Rex will be a head soon.

Hey Bill,
I can see us beating all of the NFC East teams because Redskins got destroyed by the Steelers, whom we played well. Also, Dallas, Philly and Giants have all looked poor in games this year. If we sweep those games, I think the road to the Superbowl goes through B-More! How do you think the Ravens will fare in games versus the NFC East?
Thanks

Sono,
Although the Steelers beat the Redskins, they lost to the Giants and Eagles. A split would be great.

Where did you see that blurb? Just wondering because I have not seen that anywhere.
