Update: Report indicates Cowboys consider 'Pacman' incident overblown
So perhaps the Dallas cornerback won't have to take his act to the CFL.
The head cowpoke, owner Jerry Jones, reportedly is backing cornerback Jones at least to the extent that Dallas may refrain from disciplining the player over an incident at a Big D hotel last night. Reportedly, 'Pacman' Jones and his own security man, an off-duty policeman, were involved in an altercation of somewhat foggy severity.
However, this does not mean that Adam Jones is in the clear with the league, which has the final say in this matter. The NFL is doing its own investigation and commissioner Roger Goodell, who just happened to be in Dallas yesterday, was less ready to grant quick absolution when he said, "I'm disappointed that we're even discussing this at this point in time." Adam Jones has been skating on a wafer-thin sheet of ice since coming off his season-long suspension in 2007 for his many brushes with the law.
The security guy apparently is telling a story that some so-called "playfulness" between himself and the player got a little rough. Rough enough so that a rest room mirror was damaged and the police were called.
Here's my take. The league should not only take a look at the 'Pacman' Jones incident and deal with the player but as sort of the first-responders here, the Dallas Cowboys and how they are handling this should also be examined. If 'Pacman' Jones has any culpability here and if the Cowboys were trying to cover-up or minimize any of this, they should get dinged for a draft choice.

Comments
While Dallas has some talent they have some issues also. Phillips is not a good head coach. He is very soft on the players and few have any respect for him. Romo seems to make critical mistakes in big games.
Jones has just been an embarrassment to the Cowboys history. As long as owners like him don't discipline players they will act like idiots. The Giants reward Burress with a huge contract even though his behavior has been totally unprofessional. Having a job in any field is a privilege and not a right and until owners use some common sense things will continue. Just look at Cin Bengals resigning Henry. Sports are too often disgraceful. Hopefully with the economy going downhill, tv money, sponsorships and attendence will decline.
I enjoy sports but they have totally gone out of control, both in the pros and college.

Pacman attacked his bodyguard because he wasn't allowed to go to a party. The bodyguard was following orders, and pacmans rage got the best of him.
Jerry Jones is trying quiet the whole thing because he is thin at CB and doesn't want to lose another one.
Truth is, the league needs to be rid of Pacman before he further tarnishes the leagues image. He is a bad seed(understatement) and should not have the privilege to make millions of dollars, while commiting crimes.
We know J. Jones is good at covering up internal incidents(see Irvin/Haircut) so I wouldnt be surprised if enough people got paid and we never heard about it again.
But I dont know if Goodell can can do anything, because Pacmans name isnt on the Police report apparently, so he has nothing to base his case off of, except the word of the cowboys. And they ain't talking.
BTW, you see Hines got fined 5K for a cheap shot. Yeah, that'll really stop him from doing it again.
