Brett Favre music marathon continues

So how would you feel about getting $20 million or $25 million just stay out of your boss' hair.

I know, the multi-million dollar deal that Green Bay Packers management is offering Brett Favre to make the nightmare stop is being characterized as the formalizing of a longterm relationship and is not intended as a bribe to keep Favre out of the clutches of the Vikings. But ... who's really buying that.

Reported specifics of the offer are a little inconsistent. The proposal has been described as $20 over 10 years for Favre to act in a marketing and public relations capacity or as much as $25 million over just two years. Details, details.

So Favre is mulling and occasionally texting his thoughts to ESPN and the Packers are sweating and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell could use a good stiff Gatorade. Here's the view from Wisconsin. Here's the view from Minnesota. And here's the take from ESPN.

But our contribution to the the all-Favre-all-the-time coverage of America's favorite QB is to offer a daily Brett Favre concert. We actually rolled this out for the first time maybe a year ago but it's worth hearing again. Hey, because (almost) everyone loves Brett Favre.

I seriously doubt Favre's going to give up playing football for a marketing deal - he can get those every day of the week and already has several.

If he does give it up, it will be because they'vel beat him down so much with all this scurrilous crap that's been "reported" over the last several weeks. I hope they'rel pleased with themselves. To kill the joy a man like that, a living legend, finds in the game he loves so much - what a stellar accomplishment.

Still, I sincerely hope he shows up in Green Bay and forces the Packers to shaft him in the light of day, in front of the world, and for history to record. At that point, I'll be painting a large red circle with a line through it over my Packers tire cover on my Jeep, and that family tradition will die with me.

If he just can't take anymore of the abuse, and decides to take their dirty money, I hope he turns around and gives it to charity. At this point, I may just have to learn to love college football (Arrrrgggg), cause after The Patriot/Cheaters, The Packer/Scum, the dogfighting, criminal behavior, and all of it, the NFL itself is starting to look like a bunch thugs. It's too darn bad for the players, cause I don't care what anyone says, THIS IS ABOUT THE PLAYERS. The Thompsons, Murphys, Belichicks, and Goodell's are just a bunch of parasites of live of what they do, a sport they love, and have worked their entire live to play, but have parasites contaminated it to the point that I'm not sure it can be saved.

Okay, I've had enough drama to last a lifetime.... Farve can explode for all I care! I'm outa here!!

What has happened over the last 3 to 4 weeks is the exact reason we love the guy. The one the only real gunslinging fb player in america. Stirring it up through improvision is why he was the greatest most beloved QB in the game. Come on did you expect him to do anything else but this. WE ALL LOVE BRETT FARVE

Teri B, nicely-put! I totally agree with you and I am having the same thoughts about the Packers. I was born in Green Bay but live in Chicago so I get death threats whenever I wear my beloved #4 jersey. I love Favre and I do love the Packer-nation but those guys runnin the show up there in Green Bay need to be stopped. I don't want to quit being a Packers fan, but I may have to take a break for awhile until I see some signs that the guys running things have removed their heads from their rears.
