Ravens trade down again -- want more bodies
Ravens GM Ozzie Newson: "We've got a football team that needs an influx of talent."
The Ravens traded their pick in the second round (No. 38) to Seattle for the Seahawks' pick in the second round (No. 55) and a pick in the third round (No. 86).
At this moment, the Ravens have 10 more picks, nine on the second day. Here's the rundown:
* One pick in th second round
* Three picks in the third
* Three picks in the fourth
* One in the sixth
* Two in the seventh.

Was this info slow in coming from the teams. It seems like this trade was made more than half and hour ago, and the terms were no were to be found until your post.

I'm looking at your question a while after you wrote and I've been running around here at Owings Mills so really can't address the timing.

Influx on talent or just bodies? If the Ravens keep trading down, they're just going to get bodies.
I trust Ozzie, though.

As a colleague said here, this is where you get the bulk of your roster.

not happy trading back in the 2nd... lost Campbell, Sweed, Kelly, Groves...
No third round pick in Ravens history has ever amounted to anything.

yup... the ravens just flunked the draft. RAY RICE?!?!?!?!?!?!? they traded back for Ray Rice????

They traded back because their corners were taken, I believe.

Wow... you have to give credit where it's due... Ray Rice is one hell of a pick at that spot. The Ravens always find decent talent in the deep rounds. With 6 total picks in rounds 3 and 4 they'll get the solid players and defensive depth they need.
