Arizona coach not in a partying mood

Matt Leinart has some 'splainin' to do.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback exhibited some questionable judgement recently. That would be to have a party at his home in the Valley of the Sun that included the following:

Girls
Beer Bong
Girls
Hot tub
Girls
(sigh) Camera

Through the magic of the Internet, you're a guest at Matt Leinart's house party. Take a peek.

Apparently, Cardinals' coach Ken Whisenhunt did as well (take a peek, that is) and characterized his reaction as "disappointed."

Look, it's not like it's the scandal of the century, but seriously, don't these guys learn anything from each other?

Funny, the last time I checked all of those things were legal. You sound like a jealous old guy to me.

Hey, hey, watch that old stuff. Look, my point is that maybe it's a good idea to have everyone drop those cameras and cell phones at the door, like they did in the Old West with six-shooters. I did say it wasn't the scandal of the century.

Whats is it with College Ball Players and Beer, Babes and Bikinis? What does Matt think he is, University of Miami?

This is not a direct attack to you,but I want to say who cares, who cares about a 25 year old kid having a little offseason fun with friends. It was in HIS house, and if everyone was of age and by the pics it looked to me like no one was forced there against there own will then who cares. What questions does he have to awnser, how hot was the water?,How many beer bongs can she do? or who won in beer pong?Come on people he's an adult and no one was getting hurt the super bowl was'nt the next day.I would rather have that guy on my team then some goofball shooting up nightculbs, beating up there girlfriends or being some dope head.I think a better topic would be why in the hell would the nfl even think of having guys like pacman jones back into the leauge.A hottub party come on give it a break. Can you say JOE NAMATH,boy you guys would have had a field day with him.Get a life people.

Kid McCoy,
You are certainly correct that Leinart's conduct was far, far preferrable to the assaults, the gun charges and assorted criminal acts. No argument friend. On the sliding scale of questionable behavior, this is more of a parking ticket ... although the binge drinking that the bong photo implied can get people hurt. But for the QB, there is a question of judgment here especially in this day and age when celebrity Web sites are sure to get their mitts on photos. You mention Namath. Namath went to swanky NY nightclubs. It was noticed, it made the papers but it wasn't something he had to apologize for. Leinart parties at Pure at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Same thing. People notice because he's a celeb but it's nothing he has to apologize for. But you hold a tube for some person to guzzle alcohol, assuming that's what it was, I think that's embarrassing conduct. He has to lead the team some day. You want to look like a leader, not like a college freshman at his first frat party. That's my take. Thanks for reading and taking the time to write.
