Mount St. Mary's eyes ticket to Big Dance

We want to point out that a Maryland school will be shooting for the NCAA tournament in a televised game tonight.

Mount St. Mary's (17-14, 11-7 in the NEC) plays at Sacred Heart University (18-13, 13-5) in Fairfield, Conn., for the Northeast Conference Championship, at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

Mount St. Mary's, located in Emmitsburg in Frederick County, went to the NCAA tournament in 1995 and 1999 when the Mountaineers were coached by Jim Phelan, who won 830 games before he retired in 2003. And we want to thank The Mount's Mike Hardisky for alerting us so we could alert you.
