Steelers waste no time cutting WR
Wide receiver Cedrick Wilson found out that Steeler justice can be swift.
The Steelers cut him almost immediately after he was charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend in a Pittsburgh-area Mexican restaurant last night. Wilson and the girlfriend have had a rocky relationship to say the least. Two months ago, she was in a standoff with police after she and the player had an argument. She also faces charges from an incident where she allegedly fired a couple of rounds from a handgun
Allegedly, Wilson walked into the restaurant last night, saw his former girlfriend at the bar, pushed her on the shoulder and then punched her in the face, according to reports. He left quickly, was soon arrested and charged with assault and related offenses.Wilson caught 18 passes for 207 yards last year. He has been in the league for six seasons, three in San Francisco and three in Pittsburgh. His best year was 2004 when he had 47 catches.
But Wilson's swift release brought up the question of why he was cut and linebacker James Harrison, who was charged with assaulting a girlfriend earlier this month, is still on the roster. Here's how the Steelers explain that. It involves religion. Honest.

Is Dan Rooney kidding me? He would have been better off not even mentioning the Harrison incident but instead he says what he was doing was OK? He smacked the woman in the face but Rooney says this is OK because Harrison was right!!! Here is his quote:
What Jimmy Harrison was doing and how the incident occurred, what he was trying to do was really well worth it," Rooney said of Harrison's initial intent. "He was doing something that was good, wanted to take his son to get baptized where he lived and things like that. She said she didn't want to do it."
So that made it OK to smack her in the face? Unbelieveable. Here is a link to an article about the Harrison incident.
