Maryland women cash at poker tournament

We wanted to catch up on weekend news from the recently completed World Series of Poker Circuit event at Caesars Atlantic City where a couple of Maryland women picked up some extra cash.

In the championship tournament, Tiffany Williamson, of Columbia, was the highest woman finisher coming in 17th and collecting $10,778. The winner was Eric Haber, a well-known on-line presence in the poker world who earned more than $430,000. Williamson is best known for finishing 15th in the 2005 WSOP Main Event and winning $400,000.

In the Ladies Championship in Atlantic City, Jeri Crews, of La Plata, went to the final table, finished sixth and won $3,690. A Connecticut woman won the event and nearly $23,000.
