Brett Favre retires

It was bound to happen and reportedly it has. One of pro football's most successful and popular quarterbacks as well as its most resilient has decided to finally call it a career.

Brett Favre apparently has decided to retire after 17 seasons and leading the Packers to the NFC championship game in his last campaign.

Favre finishes with 5,377 completions for 61,655 yards, 442 touchdowns and 288 interceptions.  Here are his complete stats.

So long Brett, and thanks for the pleasure of watching someone who seemed to truly love the game, day in and day out!

Make that one more NFL looking for 1 or 2 QBs for their roster.
