Orioles-by-the-numbers site -- count on a great read
We want to pass along a Web site that Orioles fans should enjoy immensely. It's called NumerOlogy with that O in the middle intentionally capitalized.
It's the creation of Kevin Brotzman, a self-described die-hard and, consequently, decade-long-suffering fan who occasionally contributes as a commenter here. His site is essentially a history of the Orioles, using jersey numbers as steppingstones, getting us from player to player, from one era to another. Sometimes, we find out why players wore a particular numeral and includes anecdotes some fans might find surprising, such as Brooks Robinson took the field in 1955 not wearing his famous No. 5 but rather No. 21. And even if you knew that, did you know who was wearing No. 5 when Brooks was a rookie? Brotzman tells us. There are some great photos, too, such as a re-purposed Sammy Sosa shirt (also No. 21) that was tuned into a Nick Markakis No. 21.
The great thing about NumerOlogy is that it's one of those Web sites where you can go back to it time and again, dipping in an out. You can start at the beginning, the middle, the end. However, you do it, it's a great journey.

Did Huff and Cabrera both change there number this year? The O's website had Huff as #17 and Cabrera as #40

Tom,
I guess that must be the case. Cabrera was 35 and Huff 19, right.
Hey, maybe they want a fresh start.

I saw that as well...we'll have to wait and see what Spring Training brings. Thanks for the link, Bill!
