Judge Jackie to O.J.: 'What the heck were you thinking?'
So, O.J. Simpson, whose career as a professional defendant is going just gangbusters, was back in the spotlight (i.e. courtroom) in Las Vegas because he made a phone call that prosecutors said violated terms of his release on bail regarding that sports memorabilia fracas at the Palace Station.
Simpson had tried to send an angry message through the bail bondsman at the "You Ring We Spring" agency to a co-defendant, which angered the judge who originally released him on bail.
Boiler plate: Simpson and several associates are accused of barging into a Las Vegas hotel room occupied by collectors where the Simpson party allegedly demanded the return of sports memorabilia supposedly belonging to Simpson. Guns may or may not have been involved and coarse language seems to have been used. All of which amounts to charges of robbery, kidnapping and related misdeeds.
So today, Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass (in Vegas, it's like on TV -- Judge Judy, Judge Jackie), doubles Simpson's bail to $250,000 and says this regarding the phone conversation that landed the former football star-move actor-sideline reporter-murder defendant-and-all-around tabloid darling back in her court.
"I don't know Mr. Simpson what the heck you were thinking -- or maybe that's the problem -- you weren't."
When it comes to Simpson, that observation covers a lot of territory.

I was one of the few that was not convinced 100% that he was involved with the murders. There was too many (foul) ups, mishandling of the evidence by LAPD, assignment of a rookie DA to a high profile case.
You would have figured that he should have considered himself very fortunate to escape the prison cell for life. You would figure that he would be walking the straight and narrow. But, this kind of stuff just makes you believe he was guilty in the first place.
