Harrison to Billick: 'Not that kind of guy'

You couldn't have missed the exchange between Patriots safety Rodney Harrison and Ravens coach Brian Billick last night when Harrison approached the Baltimore sideline and apparently had words for the Ravens' bench or even Billick himself.

Billick's response was to blow three kisses in Harrison's direction, a gesture we are sure to see on some NFL Films promo or even as part of a beer commercial somewhere down the road.

Harrison's take was this: "I'm married, so he can't be my girlfriend. I'm not that kind of guy."

Hold on there, Rodney ... did you see you ever see Billick in his Game Show era. He cut quite the dashing figure. Lookee here.

And if you missed last night's exchange, here it is, as long as it stays up on YouTube.

Coaches help distinguish between "good" and "great". It's always the Belichicks that have their 3 timeouts left at crunchtime and the Billicks who have one or none, the Billicks who call timeout for any reason whatsoever.

The Ravens D was valiant last night. For him to flaunt his stupidity is criminal. I'm a New York fan but I was incensed last night. Billick should be fired.

Jimmy,
You just touched on one of pet peeves and that's using timeouts in the second half of a game that's either close or you're behind. Drives me nuts.

Big Harrison fan, and the response from Billick (and Harrison's postgame interview) were both hilarious, but I think it's pretty bush league for a player to talk trash to an opposing coach or to confront the opposing bench under virtually all conditions in a game. About the only time I can forgive it is after blatant attempts to injure.

Looked like they were both enjoying the moment.

I think Billick's kissing scence was the most despicable action I have ever seen. this sick were the(penalty) flag should have hit the ground. This guy is disgusting, unsportman like vomit. From them on I was ceering for the Pateriots this was an hex that lost the game. This guy is a sic mama. don

"the(penalty) flag should have hit the ground"...Actually Donald, Harrison should've been the one to get the penalty flag for unsportsmanlike conduct for taunting.

You can imagine Coach Lombardi turning over his grave on this type of crap!

I do believe Harrison approached Billick, faced him and blew him a kiss first. Now is that not taunting especially right after an interception? That should have been 15 yards and pushed the Pats back. So Harrison started it but I dont condone Billicks actions.

Everyone is making such a huge deal... get over it, the Ravens fought but lost. Keep your focus to Indy and stop complaining about spilt milk or sloppy seconds.

I'm don't think Harrison blew a kiss at Billick first but he did initiate the exchange. If you listen to Billick's explanation, Harrison made some comment about the coach, Kyle Boller and the Ravens. Could it have been flagged for taunting? Depends on the language and even at that, whether an official even heard it.

Pats fan here (sorry) and I think that what Coach Billick did was classic. As someone who at one point "talked smack" to an opposing coach, I know that's what Harrison was doing. What Billick did was not as classy as Landry, but then he probably didn't have to put up with that kind of trash talking. And I think that Billick essentially made Harrison his (deleted). Now just imagine if Harrison had talked smack to Cowher? His ... head would have exploded. Now imagine Ditka. Dit-ka.

Jim,
Or Woody Hayes ... oh yeah, somebody did do that. As Ralph Kramden would say, "Pow, right in the kisser."
-- Bill O.

get over it

I missed the part where Billick ran out on the field to confront Harrison. Oh thats right it was Harrison who went to the sideline. He should have been flagged, and he should be fined.
