Cousin Vinny -- he could blend
With all these quarterbacks going down in flames, you knew this was bound to happen.
An NFL team is bringing in Vinny Testaverde for a tryout.
Think about how many times you've seen a TV camera shot dwell on Vinny with the announcers going on about how this is the last, absolute final time that Testaverde will suit up. And how many times has he trotted out to take that farewell snap. But then the next season there's a broken collarbone or a concussion or an elbow injury and Shazaam!!!
It's Captain Early-bird Special at Denny's ready with his clipboard and baseball cap.
This time it's the desperate Arizona Cardinals looking to fill the hole left by a collarbone fracture to Matt Leinart. Kurt Waner is now the starter. He's 36. Vinny turns 44 next month. The Cards are also bringing in some wet-behind-the-ears kid, 30-year-old Tim Rattay. And if it doesn't work out in the Valley of the Sun, Carolina and Miami have a crying need.
If any more QBs go down, could Doug Flutie, Drew Bledsoe or (gasp) Tim Couch be far behind?

Just about every team has a serious drop off in QB talent with what is on their bench.
