Bonds ball to be branded

The fashion designer who won an online auction for the baseball that Barry Bonds hit for his 756th home run announced that the ball will be branded with an asterisk and sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Marc Ecko had essentially conducted an Internet election where the choices were to send the ball to Cooperstown unmarked, have it marked with an asterisk, or blasted into space.

What the mark with certainly do is ensure that the ball will become one of the most visited artifacts at the Hall of Fame.

The fact that the Hall of Fame still wants to display the ball speaks volumes about how they feel regarding whether Bonds is guilty or innocent. It will be interesting to see where the * is once the ball is placed on display. I hoping front and center and not hiding underneath it.

Yeah, I think the Hall's approach is interesting as well.

I think it would be appropriate to put the ball in storage until the whole
mess about Bonds is resolved. Then make a decision as to its destination.

Bill,
Thanks for writing. Good idea but our culture is not big on deferred gratification and prudence.

This only proves that I am an Idiot for buying clothing made by someone I knew nothing about. I will however continue to wear his clothing after putting an asterik on each article of clothing.
