Dogs in Vick case victimized again
One unfortunate aspect to the Michael Vick dogfighting case is scheduled to be resolved today with sad finality. More than 50 dogs who were seized from Vick's property are scheduled to be euthanized. The major problem is that the dogs are generally not considered appropriate candidates for adoption as pets. Vick is expected to plead guilty to federal charges related to the dogfighting early next week and sentencing likely will follow in a few months.
However, the animals that were victimized had their sentences handed down when they first fell into the hands of the people who cynically exploited them.

I dont see the problem with this. I am a dog lover but I am against Pit Bulls and think that they should be outlawed specially in Baltimore City.

its not the dogs themselves, its how they are raised

Pit bulls have a bad reputation only because of people like Michael Vick. When raised properly, they are as loving and affectionate as any other dog. I used to work for a vet just outside of the city, and we saw a lot of pit bulls. The vast majority of them were wonderful pets, and many lived in families with children. Outlawing them is not the answer. It would only force responsible pit bull owners to make a terrible decision - between breaking the law and giving up a beloved pet.
