Brock Lesnar's career in limbo?
I've been a little under the weather this week, which is why I haven't been posting as much. But I did catch the great WEC show last night. Great main event. The WEC is the most underrated promotion in MMA. Those fighters simply do not get the credit they deserve.
On a sadder note, it looks like Brock Lesnar's health situation is a lot more serious than first thought. Here's a great story by Yahoo's Dan Wetzel on the situation. Dana White said Lesnar had a hole in his intestine and that his doctor thinks he hasn't been right for more than a year. He also said he doesn't know at this time if Lesnar will ever fight again.
It would be a tragic end to a career that was starting to show real promise, but it's still far too early to assume Lesnar is finished. No matter what your thoughts on Lesnar's quick ascent may be, I think everyone is hoping the big guy can make a full recovery.
Just a sad situation, but hopefully it's just a minor setback in the grand scheme of things. The rumor now is that the UFC will have an interim heavyweight championship, and that match will probably involve Cain Velasquez and Shane Carwin.

Well years of steroids will definitely cause holes in intestines. Not that other situations couldn’t like drinking rubbing alcohol or shoving sharp objects up orifices of the body. Well you had your fame and achieved greatness so by all means good job. Lesner has always thrown a fit, not to be mistook for a roid rage at all, every time he is asked about them, so obviously his tantrums’ are for sure not steroid related because he says he never took them. Never heard the story of rubbing alcohol at a party he attended, so I guess it might be that manly size foreign object that did it, after all he never declined that accusation.

i just read his article and am wondering why then that his chiropractor and friend in alexandria where brock resides said he is there recuperating. He just did an interview for them tuesday i believe so is dana just hyping this? If this is the case seriously dana shut up and quit your showbiz for a second. Brock is a MN icon and his fans here simply want the truth. I understand there might be many reasons for giving confusing info but dana seems to be a little too dramatic. He sounds like a women freaking out about her kid getting hurt in a football game. Regardless as a U alumni and someone who lives in the same area I hope he is recovering well or is at least staying hopeful, but for now i believe the local friend and chiropractor over dana rambling like a child who lost his dog. Goodluck Brock and the Perham area is hoping the best for you!!!

Hey Brother, you probably won't post this - I'll just put that up in advance.
This is not a tragedy. He will not be missed. The world has not lost a hero here, but a freakishly massive man with a background in wrestling and a hard-on for tactless hammer-fisting. He is without a doubt the least entertaining and respectable fighter in MMA today, second only to Sean Sherk and Kalib Starnes. To lament his passing with your words is to throw your credibility as a writer with regard to this focus out the proverbial window.
I hope I'm not the only person to give you shit for this, and I hope you have another job setup to support you once this inevitably falls through.
Best.
Hunter

All of the members on our website Baby Joker's Cage Forum wish Brock a very quick and full recovery. We have tried to keep our members up to date with the latest information about his situation. Good luck Brock, you have a lot of people rootin for you! I personally want to see you throw another punch like you did to Herring that made him do a back flip. Impressive is what that is!!

I feel that if he cant return it will suck. Brock is a pure athlete. With alot of ability for his size. Steroids or not. All haters just hate him because he used to wrestle for the wwe. This is the real deal. Get well soon brock and shut all of these haters down.

Thought the WEC event was great as well. If only the UFC would put WEC title fights on their PPV card instead of some of their undercard fights, it'd be great. I do enjoy watching the WEC fights for free but Jose Aldo, Miguel Torres (althought he lost), etc really could be as big as Silva, Lyoto, etc.
On to Brock, as much as I disliked him. He was a great assest to a horrible weight class. That heavyweight divison is really one I just hate seeing on PPVs. Besides Brock and JDS, there aren't too many exciting fights in that divison.
On the fence about getting the card this week. I normally get it every month, but this week its lacking a PPV worthy main event. I do like a lot of people on that card, but its missing a main event fight. Hopefully if Anthony Johnson wins, he'll get a chance at a title fight eventually. I definately think hes better than Dan Hardy, but he hasn't got to proev it yet really.

Although Lesnar shouldn't and probably will not go down as the greatest champion, yet, you hate to see the story of a great competitor come to a close. The basis of MMA fighter is a talented fighter who is trained in multiple fighting styles and the day that someone displays their range of styles to defeat Lesnar would be a defining moment in MMA. That's why I hate to see Lesnar's run possibily come to end, he will be an intergral variable in MMA becoming more recognized as a sport and showcase the challenges faced. David vs. Goliath is what we will all be looking forward to.

I wish HercuLesnar a speedy recovery. I think he shows great promise as a mma fighter. Just compare his very first fight to his last fight, vast improvement.
When Brockules recovers and fights Carwin, it will be a blowout, Lesnar is just too dynamic, he will pound Carwin's face into Hamburger. Then the real fight can take place-BROCK LESNAR VS ADULT MALE GORILLA!

Holes in intestines is most likely cause by a Gluten sensitivity that was ignored for a long period of time. Also known as Celiacs disease. when you eat wheat, barley or oats (which is in everything processed) your body attacks the small intestines until it eats them up and causes holes in them. It is a genetic auto immune disorder. It can lead to cancer, getting your intestines cut out, and other serious issues. I should know, I have it, and I've never taken steroids.

Hunter, you are straight up evil. Administrator, you are evil's accessory. Not certain if you're helping by exposing this evil hunter guy so he can learn from our feedback how severely disturbed he is and thus, seek immediate professional help. Or if it's hurting by contaminating the rest of us with the thoughts and deviant immoral emotions of a disturbed human. Anyway, hunter, to wish for the death of someone you do not know and dislike for childish and unrealistic reasons is to be a person that wishes death upon everyone. You're the kind of guy that rejoices when they hear of a mass murder of innocent people in some sick shooting at a mall. Those that do that weren't far from where you are now so listen carefully! Seek help now - immediatley now! See a professional and find love from people in your past and present. You fit the profile described above too well. I don't speak these words now because i respect Lesnar, but because your condition is serious and is a danger to society. Back to Lesnar, you are an amazing person and i have nothing but respect and admiration for the man you became. Please take care of yourself. I wish you all the best.
Sweet dreams

Quick Lesson for Tulip and others.
Diverticulitis is caused by inflammation, or (sometimes) a small tear in a diverticulum. If the tear is large, stool in the colon can spill into the abdominal cavity, causing an infection (abscess) or inflammation in the abdomen.
In complicated diverticulitis, bacteria may subsequently infect the outside of the colon if an inflamed diverticulum bursts open. If the infection spreads to the lining of the abdominal cavity, (peritoneum), this can cause a potentially fatal peritonitis. Sometimes inflamed diverticula can cause narrowing of the bowel, leading to an obstruction. Also, the affected part of the colon could adhere to the bladder or other organ in the pelvic cavity, causing a fistula, or abnormal connection between an organ and adjacent structure or organ, in this case the colon and an adjacent organ.
Does it surprise anyone that Lesnar was full of sh** so badly that it backed up and spilled into his stomach?
Here is the kicker...the study.......... (pay close attention to the CONCLUSION Lesnar supporters)
Introduction: Jejunal diverticula are rare lesions, and when complications arise, they pose diagnostic difficulties. Perforation is a common complication resulting in an acute abdomen, although preoperative diagnosis is usually not possible. The “gold standard” for management for patients with complications is surgery. We present a series of patients with perforated jejunal diverticula who were on prolonged treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and steroids for Chikungunya fever.
Methods: There were a total of six patients, all of them presenting with perforative peritonitis, with or without shock. Plain abdominal radiogram and ultrasonogram confirmed this, although the exact site of the perforation was not diagnosed preoperatively. All patients underwent exploratory laparotomy and perforated jejunal diverticulum was found. Resection and anastomosis was performed in all cases.
Results The mean operating time was 113.5 minutes, and the blood loss was not significant. Postoperative course was uneventful except wound infection in two patients. There was no mortality.
CONCLUSIONS: Prolonged NSAID and steroid use are known to cause ulceration/perforation of the upper digestive tract and colonic diverticula. This seems to be the most likely cause for the perforation of jejunal diverticula in our series of patients. This view is supported by the absence of inflammation and infiltration of neutrophils on histopathological examination of the diverticula.

Dave-
I hope that post isn't like your prediction for the Strikeforce ratings. So confident at first, only to be exposed as wildly inaccurate once the facts were available.

Hey Tulip- Did you see the facts about Lesnar's condition? It is Diverticulitis like I thought. And guess what??? Steriods cause it.
What are all the Lesnar supporters going to come up with now that their Hero is exposed as a cheater?

by steriods they mean corticosteroids which are used medically to decrease pain and inflammation. They are completely different from anabolic steroids.
That said he is obv a former user. People dont look like that naturally.
