Kimbo Slice ... heading to the UFC?

Kind of.

Against all odds, it looks like Kimbo Slice is one step closer to being in the UFC. Slice is expected to compete on the 10th season of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV. The move is beyond puzzling.

White has repeatedly said the only way he’d let Slice in is if he competed on The Ultimate Fighter and Slice will breathe new life into the TUF franchise, so it’s a no-brainer for White. Especially if a no-name competitor manages to clown Slice the way Seth Petruzelli did in his last EliteXC bout, which would just make White look better.

It’s puzzling to see what Slice has to gain from this. He’s professed a desire to go into boxing and even if that didn’t pan out, he could’ve gone overseas to fight in Japan. Japan is probably the only place he could get a reasonable fraction of his EliteXC paydays, as they seem to be big fans of freak shows over there.

I hope Slice is getting paid for his appearance on the show, otherwise he’s got almost nothing to win and a lot more to lose. Either way, it looks like another win for Dana White and especially for Spike and the TUF franchise.

If Kimbo trains harder than anyone else on the show, acts humbly and kind, wins his fights, and makes a serious run in the UFC...he will be regarded like a real like Rocky or something. Everyone loves to see an underdog overcome odds. I hope he does it. Slim odds...but what a great story.

This would be the perfect test to see what kimbo is about..... Let the games begin. Already sounds better than this season..

I think we should all be excited to see Kimbo fight. Everyone keeps hating on him but the ones hating wouldnt step into a ring with him. I think as long as Kimbo stays on his feet he could win that UFC contract, because the dude can throw down.

Does Dana want to roll on the matt with him and wrap his legsa round him?

I know that I would definitely tune in if Kimbo's on TUF, and will only watch it in passing if he's not in it.

I'm all for it, I like kimbo. its not his fault XC overhyped him to the point he couldn;t live up to his rep, and i'd like to see him try out against some other heavyweights. Game On!!!
