UFC 100 already a sellout

UFC 100 was the fastest sellout in MMA history, as the card, headlined by Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir, sold out before going on sale to the public. Members of the UFC Fight Club had the first crack at tickets and when they were through, the event was sold out.

Does anyone have a problem with the UFC’s method of selling tickets? A fightticker.com reader argues that scalpers are getting too many tickets through this method and jacking up the tickets for real fans. Problem is, how do you solve this? If tickets are on sale at a general time, scalpers will get their share anyway. Ticket scalping is incredibly difficult to stop, but it’s tough for fans who wanted to make the trip for UFC 100.

Also, did anyone catch Strikeforce’s show this weekend? Nick Diaz took down Frank Shamrock, Gilbert Melendez beat a late fill-in and it was announced that Kevin Randleman and Fabricio Werdum had joined the promotion. It’s rumored that Tito Ortiz will be next to sign with Strikeforce. Anyone catch the first show? Thoughts?

Watched the Strikeforce show. Nick Diaz dominated Shamrock. Not even close. Was toying with him. Cyborg came in over weight, and mauled a little japanese girl - with the HOTTTT Gina Carano in the crowd. She doesn't know it yet, but she's going to be my 2nd wife! Wow. Fight of the night was Smith vs. ??? (drawing blank) - the fight could have been stopped 4 or 5 times and both of these guys kept coming back for more. Fight of the year potential if only my senility would allow me to remember the names......

Who cares where Tito signs? He is not focused & is history, not the future.

I think anderson silva will knock out lietes in the second round.
I think Ice Man will knock out Shogun in the first round.

I just hope Philly doesn't sell out as fast!

Where do you catch that Strikeforce? I never seem to see that on TV unless it's on a really obscure channel or something. Scalping seems impossible to me to stop, but how about instead of thinking of that, let's think of a way to get the UFC to Baltimore...any chance in hell of that ever happening? Seems like it'd be absolutely awesome to go to an MMA event!
