Today's game previews -- September 4

The Triple-A Norfolk Tides wrap up their home schedule for the 2009 season with a game against the Gwinnett Braves at Harbor Park, and the Double-A Bowie Baysox welcome the Harrisburg Senators to Prince George's Stadium.

The Single-A Frederick Keys hit the road to take on the Wilmington Blue Rocks, and the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds continue their series with the Lakewood BlueClaws at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

The short-season Single-A Aberdeen IronBirds return home to face the Tri-City ValleyCats at Ripken Stadium tonight.

The Eastern League announced its Pitcher of the Year yesterday, and Orioles left-handed pitcher Brian Matusz finished third in the voting.

Akron Aeros right-hander Jeanmar Gomez, a prospect in the Cleveland Indians' minor league system, was selected as the winner of the award. Trenton Thunder right-hander Zach McAllister was second.

The Most Valuable Player for the Eastern League will be announced today.

A couple other roster moves from earlier in the week that were just passed along by the IronBirds' media relations staff:

• Right-handed pitcher Patrick Kantakevich was promoted from the IronBirds to Frederick.

• Right-handed pitcher Thomas Phelps was called up from the Rookie-level Bluefield Orioles to Aberdeen.

• Right-handed pitcher Brian Anderson joins the IronBirds from the Rookie-level GCL Orioles.
