Live: Baysox vs. Harrisburg -- Bowie grabs victory
Starting pitcher Troy Patton tossed seven-plus innings to lead the Baysox to a 7-2 victory over the Harrisburg Senators.
Patton allowed a solo home run to Senators catcher Jhonatan Solano to lead off the top of the eighth. He then walked Harrisburg shortstop Michael Martinez before being removed with a 7-2 lead and no outs in the inning.
At my count, Patton threw 95 pitches (57 strikes) for Bowie.
Baysox relief pitcher Ryan Ouellette retired the first two batters before allowing a single to Harrisburg center fielder Elijah Dukes. Ouellette got Senators third baseman Joel Guzman to fly out to end the eighth.
Catcher Adam Donachie and right fielder Ambiorix Concepcion grounded out for the Baysox in the bottom of the inning before shortstop Robert Valido picked up his third single of the game. Bowie designated hitter Dave Krynzel struck out swinging to end the inning.
Ouellette retired the side in order in the top of the ninth to seal the win for the Baysox.
I'll have more to share in the game recaps later tonight, but I'm heading to the clubhouse to talk to some of the players right now.

I love this column...but without k/bb/hit details what good does "Patton excells" mean to me? Other than the post annoyed me because it made me more curious.

Thanks for all the info on the birds to be. I rarely post but always read. Any rumblings on how long before a promotion for Patton? I know they want to be careful with him, but the Norfolk rotation has taken several hits this week. Are there any real position prospects at Bowie right now? It seems that most of the big potential talent is either at AAA or A.
