Mayock and McShay's final mock drafts

In the last mock draft posted by NFL Network expert Mike Mayock (helpfully placed in the sports media blog by The Dallas Morning News' Barry Horn), Mayock correctly predicted the "reach" for Maryland's Darrius Heyward-Bey by the Raiders. Mayock also had the Ravens' first-round pick, Michael Oher, going at No. 10.

Here is the last mock by ESPN's Todd McShay (through No. 16). He also had Oher going at 10.

For those of you keeping score, each correctly predicted seven of the top 16, with McShay getting the first four up until the Jets-Browns trade at No. 5 and being right on six of the first eight.

the fact is ozzie iq is 40 which puts him on the line between ab idiot and an imbecile.somene should send him 48 hours of tapes of randy moss and larry fitxgerald the two best receivers in the history of pro football an ive watched the nfl since sid luckman was a qb.does the owner of the ravens football iq lets him count past five. if it does he should fire this jerk today

John,

In reading that, it must put your IQ at 10 if Ozzies is 40. The Ravens have the best GM and one of the best owners in all of football! And as they would say back in the day of good ole sid luckman, the proof is in the pudding!

hey john, put down the whiskey and get a dictionary. I think Steve B should seriously consider firing Ozzie and hiring you for you draft day expertise. That is if you aren't already running the raiders war room?

Well Oz is not an "it" so maybe your IQ is less then 40!!! Not sure what you are ranting about, but no one in this draft is Fitz or Moss!!!!! If you are question our 1st round pick you are a moron plain and simple!!!!

john mandersders put down the crack pipe.

Dear John: That has to be the most ignorant comment I've ever seen at this blog. If Mr. Newsome's IQ is 40, yours must be minus 40. Go back to grade school and re-take spelling and grammar.

let me guess.....John you a steelers fan?

Is john mandersders serious? How someone with such poor spelling and grammar could even mention Mr. Newsome's IQ is beyond me. Grammatical errors aside, I have no idea what he was trying to say in his post, and the bizarre rambling gives me a headache every time I read it. Fine, you didn't like the Raven's picks, but to critique Ozzie's IQ? Seriously, is there any question about the success of the Raven's past drafts? Where do these truly misguided people come from? You'd think Baltimore had a special school to create non-thinking morons.

Clearly you are the master of all things football, john mandersders.

Their IQ is obviously low since they provide a competitive team year in and year out. I'd much rather have Al Davis running my team.

Come on.

Hmm, two draft experts have the pick we got at 23 going at 10 - and Ozzie is an idiot? What's your IQ there John?

j. manders... ders....ders...ders....ders in football IQ doesn't count for much its the wonderlic. In your case ditka said it best you have the IQ of a grapefruit.

About Ray Frager
Ray Frager joined The Baltimore Sun’s sports department in 1985 and has been an assistant sports editor for more than 15 years. This is his second stint writing a sports media column for The Baltimore Sun. Most sequels aren't as good as the original, but then, the original wasn't all that great either.

Frager, born in 1957, grew up in northern Delaware (graduating from a high school that since has shut down) and received his bachelor's degree in journalism from Rider College in Lawrenceville, N.J. He worked as a reporter and copy editor at The Trenton Times and The Dallas Morning News before coming to Baltimore.

Surprisingly, if you look at his accompanying photo, Frager is married and has a son and daughter. He enjoys playing basketball and has organized pickup games among members of The Baltimore Sun staff for many years, which means they don't get too mad at him for shooting way too much.

He has a good beat and is easy to dance to. I'd give him an 85.
