« A word on today's Ravens announcers on Fox | Main | Slow down those NFL highlights »

From the NFL Sunday studios

What they said Sunday (thanks to highlights from the networks):

ESPN's Mike Ditka on the NFL's continuing to let the Detroit Lions play on Thanksgiving: “I think the league is missing the point. We need to put two teams on every Thanksgiving who are competitive. We all stuff a turkey on Thanksgiving. That doesn’t mean you have to stuff that turkey down our throats.”

Fox's Howie Long on Terrell Owens: “T.O.’s been in the league for the past 13 years.  What do the last 13 Super Bowl champions have in common?  No T.O.”

Fox's Jimmy Johnson on Adam "Pacman" Jones: “Everybody needs a 13th chance.”

The NFL Network's Warren Sapp on Andy Reid: "I think it’s pretty obvious. Fire the coach. … Andy Reid is not going to bring a championship to Philadelphia."

NBC's Cris Collinsworth on Donovan McNabb: "Donovan learned last week the game could end in a tie. This week, he learned the game could end at the half. The only thing worse than Donovan McNabb was his replacement and the decision by Andy Reid to replace him. You do not take a kid who has not practiced and put him in at halftime on the road against this Baltimore Ravens killer defense. The season ended today for the Philadelphia Eagles."

About Ray Frager
Ray Frager joined The Baltimore Sun’s sports department in 1985 and has been an assistant sports editor for more than 15 years. This is his second stint writing a sports media column for The Baltimore Sun. Most sequels aren't as good as the original, but then, the original wasn't all that great either.

Frager, born in 1957, grew up in northern Delaware (graduating from a high school that since has shut down) and received his bachelor's degree in journalism from Rider College in Lawrenceville, N.J. He worked as a reporter and copy editor at The Trenton Times and The Dallas Morning News before coming to Baltimore.

Surprisingly, if you look at his accompanying photo, Frager is married and has a son and daughter. He enjoys playing basketball and has organized pickup games among members of The Baltimore Sun staff for many years, which means they don't get too mad at him for shooting way too much.

He has a good beat and is easy to dance to. I'd give him an 85.
