Super Bowl pre-game
It's starting tomorrow. No, that's not a joke. The NFL Network is beginning its Super Bowl coverage Saturday at 10 a.m., VIII days before the actual game. The first show is a replay of the Game of the Week from Week 17, the Patriots-Giants. That's followed by lots of Super Bowl highlights shows, but there will be plenty of live programming from Arizona, with Total Access airings that include news conferences.
And being that we're approaching Super Bowl week, let me repeat one of the all-time Super Bowl questions -- right up there with asking Doug Williams how long he'd been a black quarterback -- which supposedly was asked by a fellow I once worked with many years ago. I'll acknowledge this could be apocryphal, but the way I heard it, the question was asked of Jim Plunkett with great sensitivity: "So, Jim, let me get this straight: Your father's dead and your mother's blind or your mother's dead and your father's blind?"
