Mount St. Joseph rising senior Jalen Robinson scored late in the first half Wednesday to help the U.S. under-18 men's national soccer team to a 1-1 tie against rival Mexico in the second group game of the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland.
Robinson’s goal came with just seconds remaining in the half, when he drove a low shot from about eight yards away off Victor Pineda’s corner kick.
The U.S. earned four points in two group games and will face Georgia for third-place in the six-team tournament. Denmark and Northern Ireland will play for the championship.
Robinson, a three-year starter for the Gaels and a 2010 first-team All-Metro selection by The Baltimore Sun, also entered as a substitute in a 2-0 victory over Israel on Monday.
He has already signed to play at Wake Forest.
