WPSL's Chesapeake Charge set for home opener

The Chesapeake Charge is set to begin its second season in the Women's Premier Soccer League on Saturday. They will host Pennsylvania-based FC Bucks at Arundel High. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

The Charge, guided by former Mercy coach Albert Oni, will play a 10-game regular-season schedule that includes five homes games. Among the area standouts on the rosters are midfielder and captain Kelly Hammond (St. Mary's/Virginia), forward Brittany Hadaway (Institute of Notre Dame/Towson), forward Lily Boleyn (Centennial/Clemson), defender Annesia Faulkner (St. Vincent Pallotti/Maryland), defender Jessica Hnatiuk (John Carroll/Johns Hopkins), forward Kristen Schmidbauer (Glenelg/North Carolina-Greensboro). Newcomers include defender/midfielder Alexa Quaranta (Perry Hall), forward Alexis Prior-Brown (Mercy) and goalie Kristen Mumby (Marriotts Ridge).
