Former Glenelg soccer standout Schmidbauer now a Terp

Kristen Schmidbauer, an All-Metro midfielder and 2010 Glenelg graduate who helped lead the Gladiators to two girls soccer state championships, has transferred to Maryland after spending her freshman season playing at UNC-Greensboro. She will have three years of eligibility with the Terps. Schmidbauer enjoyed an impressive freshman season at UNC-Greensboro, leading the Southern Conference with 10 goals and six assists for 26 points, earning second-team all-league status. At Glenelg, where she was on the honor roll for all four years, she played a major role in state championship seasons in 2007 and 2008.
