4 locals nominated to US Army All-American Bowl

Four football players from Baltimore schools have been nominated to play in the nationally-televised 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January.

Dunbar's Deontay McManus, Gilman's Cyrus Jones and Brian Gaia and Franklin's Ian Thomas will all be seniors next season and are among 12 Maryland players and 440 nationwide to be nominated for the annual event.

Other Maryland players nominated: Michael Moore and Brent Wilkerson, from DeMatha; Wes Brown, Roderick Chungong, Stefon Diggs, Mike Madaras and Ryan Watson, from Good Counsel; and Ronald Darby of Potomac.

The teams will be announced in January.
