St. Frances to honor former basketball coach William Wells
St. Frances will honor former legendary boys basketball coach William Wells at its first annual Benefiting Students Today & Tomorrow Gala, set for Friday, April 29 in the school's gymnasium.
The dinner will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. and all proceeds will support the school's tuition assistance fund.
Wells founded the school's basketball program and spent 28 seasons as coach before stepping down in 2008. He captured over 500 wins and led the Panthers to six Baltimore Catholic League tournament championships.
Bill Gaudreau, Sr., a longtime member of the school’s Advisory Board who pioneered all of the school’s architectural endeavors since the 1960s, also will be honored.
