No. 1 McDonogh vs. No. 2 NDP girls lax postponed

The Thursday showdown between No. 1 McDonogh and No. 2 Notre Dame Prep has been postponed until Friday.

Lots of rain Wednesday night in Owings Mills made the Eagles' low-lying field too wet to play on, but the rematch of last year's IAAM A Conference final will be played there at 4 p.m. Friday.

Both teams opened their seasons with wins over A Conference foes on Tuesday -- McDonogh, 16-14 over Roland Park, and NDP, 18-6 over Mount de Sales.

Last season, the Eagles defeated the Blazers, 17-8, for their second straight A Conference title and a 20-0 finish.They became only the second team in A Conference history to win back-to-back titles and also to finished undefeated. John Carroll won in 2007 and 2008 and went 18-0 in 2008.
