John Carroll, St. Frances set for Alhambra

The John Carroll and St. Frances boys basketball teams still have some hoops to play, both receiving invitations to the prestigious Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament set for March 17-19 at Frostburg State University in Cumberland.

The tournament's 51st edition will feature eight teams. In the tournament's opening round on March 17, No. 2 John Carroll (31-2) will go up against St. Benedict's (N.J.) Prep at 7:30 p.m. with No. 5 St. Frances (19-7) taking on D.C.'s Gonzaga at 9:15 p.m.

John Carroll swept the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference and Baltimore Catholic League champinships -- defeating St. Frances in both title games.
