Calvert Hall joins V Foundation battle

On Thursday, students and faculty at Calvert Hall will join Jim Valvano’s Team to “Show Your Spirit” in the fight against cancer. Participants will pay $5 to wear gear from their favorite college teams during the first day of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament. Funds raised will be donated to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

It has been just 18 years since The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and Valvano. Since 1993, The V Foundation has raised more than $100 million and awarded cancer research grants in 38 states and the District of Columbia. Researchers have developed their laboratories and taken their science from the labs to the clinics with the help of funds raised by The V Foundation.
