Annapolis' Sonnefeld Foundation to award at least one $2,500 golf scholarship
Sometimes when you hear about a contest and never see who the winners are, you wonder if the prize was ever awarded.
Fortunately, the George E. Sonnefeld Foundation's award of "at least one" scholarship to a senior high school golfer is not some promotion from an unknown entity from whom you never hear again.
The Annapolis-based foundation really does give out scholarships, $2,500 to a deserving college-bound high school senior or two, who play golf, have established handicaps and live in the greater Baltimore area.
The scholarship, which is paid directly to the recipient's college, has been given each of the last six years and will be again this spring.
Students who wish to receive applications should contact their athletic directors, golf coaches, golf course professional, guidance counselor or foundation treasurer Susan DeLonardo at 410-841-5670 or dilonardo2@aol.com
The deadline for submission is March 15.
