Glenelg's Parker chooses Maryland

Glenelg junior field hockey midfielder Alyssa Parker has committed to the University of Maryland for a field hockey scholarship, her coach Ginger Kincaid said.

Parker had been pursued by both Maryland and North Carolina before Parker made her decision.

The junior scored an amazing 38 goals and 38 assists this past season. She led the Gladiators and Howard County in scoring, while leading her team to a 19-1 record and its first state championship.

After the season, she was the only player in the greater Baltimore area (and one of just two in the state) named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s High School All- South Region team.

She is also a Junior Olympian and Futures Elite Player.
