Annapolis grad Graham upsets Hereford grad Asper

Former Annapolis wrestler Patrick "Bubby" Graham had a big weekend at the 48th Midlands Championships wrestling for American University.

Graham, an AU sophomore, wrestling in the 165-pound class, upset the country's No. 3 ranked competitor. His 7-6 win came at the expense of another local high school graduate, Maryland's Josh Asper, the Hereford grad who won four state titles in four different weight classes while wrestling for the Bulls.

The result meant Asper dropped from No. 3 to No. 5 in the InterMat College Rankings, while Graham, who finished eighth at the Dec. 30 tournament in Chicago, is still trying to crack the Top 20.
