Soccer standouts Price, Tana earn academic honors

Soccer standouts Alex Price (Marriotts Ridge) and Gabrielle Tana (Maryvale Prep) have been selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2010 Girls High School Scholar All-America Team. To be selected, players must be seniors with a minimum 3.75 cumulative grade-point average and have exhibited excellence in high school soccer.

Price, a midfielder, closed out a four-year career with eight goals and six assists to lead the Mustangs to their first Howard County championship. Tana, also a midfielder, scored seven goals and added six assists in her fourth varsity season at Maryvale Prep. The two will be invited to the NSCAA All-America Luncheon, set for Jan. 15 as part of the 2006 NSCAA Convention in Baltimore.
