Oakland Mills boys hoopsters with an interesting week

Coming off a 19-6 season with a number of standouts back, the Oakland Mills boys basketball team comes into the week ranked No. 10 in the metro area with a 3-0 mark.

The Scorpions entered the season as the clear favorite in Howard County and have an ideal chance to prove just that with a busy week.

They open the week this afternoon at home against Reservoir; play host to Hammond on Wednesday (both games are set for 5:30 p.m.), and close out the week visiting Centennial at 7 p.m. Friday night. The three opponents were the only three to hand the Scorpions county losses last year.

The Scorpions, led by senior forward Greg Whittington and senior point guard Joe Kiely, have a chance to make quick amends with a productive week.
