Winters Mill's Homecoming football game against North Carroll, scheduled for Friday night has been postponed until Saturday at 1 p.m.

Steve Speck, Winters Mill athletic director, said that after all of Thursday's rain, field conditions would not be safe for the players since the Falcons' stadium field was recently resodded.

"On a freshly-sodded field, cleats can dig deeply and knees can turn," Speck said, adding that after a day of sun and wind, the field would be in much better shape Saturday.

Ideally, the game would be rescheduled as a night game, Speck said, but with the Homecoming Dance scheduled for Saturday night, a 1 p.m. game should give players and spectators time to get ready for the dance.
