Howard boys soccer crown up for grabs tonight

Fitting of the high level of boys soccer that has been played in Howard County this season, the county title is still up for grabs going into the regular season's final night with three teams still in the hunt. In addition to county bragging rights, a berth in Tuesday District V championship game against Anne Arundel Countty champ Arundel -- set for 5 p.m. at Meade High -- is on the line.

Going into tonight's games, No. 1 River Hill (12-0-1) and No. 4 Wilde Lake (11-0-2) have 9-0-1 county records, while No. 5 Marriots Ridge (12-1) is at 9-1.

Marriotts Ridge is at River Hill, while Long Reach -- which has won one county game this season -- visits Wilde Lake. Both games are set for 7.

River Hill is county champs with a win and a Wilde Lake loss.

Wilde Lake takes the title with a win and a River Hill loss.

Marriotts Ridge is the champs with a win and Wilde Lake loss.

If River Hill and Wilde Lake both win, the two teams will be declared co-champs and a coin flip will determine who represents Howard in the District V championship game.
