Calvert Hall debuts in USA Today rankings

Calvert Hall entered the week ranked 8th in the USA Today east regional high school football rankings, largely due to last Saturday's thrilling 26-21 victory over Gilman. The Greyhounds were ranked as high as No. 15 in the Super 25 poll, but were dropped after a 33-6 loss to Don Bosco (N.J.) Prep. The Cardinals are the only school from Maryland ranked in the poll. Calvert Hall travels to Georgetown Prep on Friday.

Karpovich? I don't remember hearing your name before, but if you're a son of Bill Karpovich then your father was the best high-school soccer coach I ever heard of.

Todd Karpovich is Coach Bill Karpovich's nephew, who also played soccer for the Hall. And Coach Karp was the best high school coach of all time

If Calvert Hall is ranked 8th, then I surmise River Hill would be ranked ahead of them! National rankings are a farce, much like the BCS poll!
