Broadneck grad Salvarola makes U.S. junior softball team
Recent Broadneck grad Kourtney Salvarola, who led the No. 1 Bruins to their second straight Class 4A state softball title, has been selected for the 2010-11 USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team.
The team will compete later this year at the III Pan American Softball Championship (18-and-under), Aug. 6-15, in Bogota, Colombia, which serves as a qualifier for the International Softball Federation (ISF) IX Jr. Women's World Championship (19-and-under), Dec. 6-17, 2011, in Cape Town, South Africa.
Salvarola, who will play at South Florida, was a four-time first-team All-Metro pitcher, earning Player of the Year honors in her junior season. She batted .514 and went 14-2 on the mound this season to close out her stellar four-year career. Ranked the No. 5 recruit by ESPNU, Salvarola will likely play an infield position at South Florida.

Glenn,
Kourtney may be one of the best athletes from AA Co in many years. She certainly deserves the honor.
