Ex-Bryn Mawr lacrosse player heals at Cal

Tighe Hutchins' senior year of college had an unexpected interruption but is on track for a happy ending.

Hutchins, an All-Baltimore City girls lacrosse player at Bryn Mawr in 2006, moved to Berkeley, Calif., for college, where she suited up for the Golden Bears.

Last fall, Hutchins suffered a splenic artery aneurysm, suffering uncontrollable internal bleeding. Thanks to an outpouring of support from her Cal teammates, doctors and the lacrosse community, Hutchins was able to recover. She will walk in graduation ceremonies next weekend.
