Class 2A North semifinal showcase slated for Coppin State

As expected, the Class 2A North region semifinal menu is overwhelmingly appetizing and Baltimore City boys basketball fans will be able to find it at one stop on Thursday with Coppin State serving as the host.

In a doubleheader, No. 3 Edmondson takes on No. 9 Digital Harbor at 5 p.m., followed by No. 5 City vs. No. 8 Lake Clifton. Each team brings an impressive resume and talented players to the showdown.

Edmondson won its first Baltimore City championship last week with an upset win over Lake Clifton, edging Digital Harbor in the final game of the regular season to get into the title game. Digital Harbor is last year's Class 1A state champ; City is the defending 2A champ and the top seed in the region; and Lake Clifton is last year's 3A champ.

Edmondson features Stanton Kidd and Rodney Pratcher. Digital Harbor brings Davon Usher and Justin Jackson. City comes with Jordan Latham and Nick Faust. And Lake Clifton is led by Josh Selby and Durand Johnson.

The winners will meet in Saturday's region final game for the right to play in the state semifinals at Comcast Center in College Park.
