Baltimore County pushes back basketball title games

In the ongoing snow shuffle, the Baltimore County's girls and boys basketball championship games have been moved to Feb. 23 instead of Feb. 19. The JV finals will be Feb. 24.

That will allow teams to continue making up games until Feb. 19, which is now the final play date in Baltimore County.

Ron Belinko, coordinator of athletics for the Baltimore County public schools, said that as of today, most county teams should have just one game to make up if they have followed the policy of playing on the next available date. However, should more snow arrive Tuesday and Wednesday as predicted, and schools remain closed the rest of the week, that could put teams three games behind with only five days left to play.

The state playoff schedule for basketball has not changed. The draw is scheduled for Feb. 21 and regionals begin on Feb. 26 for girls and Feb. 27 for boys.
