Steve Bernier, F (BUF): The Buffalo Sabres are a team chalk full of small skaters, so you can bet they were happy to get a big (power) forward like Steve Bernier in return for Brian Campbell to San Jose. Rumor has it - like that awful Jennifer Aniston movie - that Bernier's recent struggles in San Jose stemmed from a frictional relationship with head coach Ron Wilson. The key here is that Bernier is not only rejuvenated, he is skating on the top line with two of the hottest guys in hockey: Derek Roy and Thomas Vanek. After a three-point, plus-3 effort in his first game, results have declined in his last two (minus-2), but stick with him for now.

Alex Burrows, F (VAN): If you are looking for a source of penalty minutes, Alex Burrows might be your guy. He's not much of a scorer - he hasn't topped six points in any one month - but he sits in the sin-bin quite frequently. He totaled 49 penalty minutes between December and January, then soaked up a whopping 52 penalty minutes in February alone. As the playoffs approach, this is a guy who can help fill a category if you've got some dead weight to drop.

Philippe Boucher, D (DAL): Philippe Boucher returned last week and rejoined the red hot Dallas Stars. Boucher has more value than you think right now. With Sergei Zubov still out and expected to be sidelined for a while, Boucher will get some power play time. On a strong defensive team, his plus-minus should help you out as well.

Tuomo Ruutu, F (CAR): Fantasy owners have been drafting Tuomo Ruutu consistently in late rounds, hoping he'll tap into the potential that everyone believed he had. Well, many of those owners have egg on their face. More importantly, they wasted a good draft pick. Ruutu got dumped on Carolina at the trade deadline but maybe a change of environment is exactly what he needed. One game in and he's recored two points, a plus-2 with a couple shots on net. He's playing on Carolina's second line and since he's a left wing, you should keep your eyes open to see whether his play is an emerging trend or a mirage.

Jeff Carter, C (PHI): It's time to get Carter. No, not the Sylvester Stallone movie, I'm talking about Philadelphia Flyers' center Jeff Carter. Carter has six points in his last five games and is seeing more ice time now that Mike Richards is sidelined for a little while. Carter is also playing with better players, which helps explain the spark in production. With Simon Gagne and now Richards out, Carter should have value down the stretch of the season and is worth owning as long as he's hot.

Patrick O'Sullivan, C (LA): Speaking of hot centers, Patrick O'Sullivan is cooking and is worth a look. He registered points in eight of 12 February games. In total, he posted 13 points in the month with four on the power play and one short-handed. With the center position being so deep, basically all you want to do is catch a wave and ride it out. While the line of O'Sullivan, Anze Kopitar and Michael Cammalleri keep producing, O'Sullivan is worth owning.
