Somebody, anybody, please come to Stage 2

From Sun reporter Kevin Eck:

WNST owner/on-air personality Nestor Aparicio tried to make the best of a bad situation when he hosted an "event" on Stage 2, the small stage at the opposite end of the infield from the main stage.

He had a few Blast players with him, but Infieldfest hostess Stacy Keibler and Charm City Devils front man John Allen -- who supposedly were scheduled to be there as well -- apparently didn't get the memo. It's probably a just as well, because if they had there would have been more people on the stage than in front of it.

Aparicio tried to his hardest to get people to pay attention, but his witty one-liners fell on deaf ears, not that there were that many ears to begin with.

"This looks my audience, according to my Arbitron rating," he said, referring to the modest wattage of his all-sports station.

Later, he coaxed Blast goalie Sagu onto the stage, who was obviously uncomfortable being in front of a "crowd."

"It's impossible to be embarrassed when no one's listening," Aparicio said.
