Cleveland Melvin reopens recruitment
Former Lake Clifton standout Cleveland Melvin has made a change in his college plans.
The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward committed to UConn in November, but FoxSports.com’s Jeff Goodman reported that Melvin reopened his recruitment today. Melvin’s AAU coach at Cecil Kirk, Anthony Lewis, confirmed the news and said the parting of ways was mutual.
“Basically, he’s just looking to be more of a 3-man,” Lewis said. “So he just wanted to open the process back up and see where everything is going.”
Melvin, who is doing a post-grad year at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass., is mainly looking at seven schools.
“Right now it’s Marquette, Pitt, Seton Hall, South Florida, Miami, DePaul and TCU,” Lewis said. “Those are the ones I know of.”
Lewis said Melvin doesn’t want to rush his decision, but also doesn’t want a “long, drawn-out process.” He’ll start making visits after NDP’s season concludes.
“I think [his time at Notre Dame Prep] has been great for him,” Lewis said. “It’s given him the opportunity to develop into a 3-man, not just talk about it. He's gotten the opportunity to do what he wants to do, so I think it’s been great.”

Matt-
I am posting the link to vote for Vasquez for the Cousy award.
It ends Friday, and he holds a slim lead over John Wall. We CAN NOT let Kentucky take this award away. I hope EVERYONE goes on an dvotes for Greivis.
It would also be great if you could post it to one of your blogs.
