City's Adrian Coxson reopens recruitment
City wide receiver Adrian Coxson committed to Penn State last April but won't sign with the Nittany Lions next month.

“I just know that he decommitted from Penn State and is leaning toward Georgia or Florida,” said City coach George Petrides.
Coxson, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior, chose Penn State last spring over offers from Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. He committed to the Nittany Lions after taking an unofficial visit to State College for the spring game. At the time, Coxson called Penn State his “dream school.”
Petrides said he was “really not sure” why Coxson and Penn State decided to part ways.
“He just thought it was better if he picked one of the other two schools,” Petrides said.
Coxson, a Baltimore Sun first-team All-Metro selection, played quarterback for the Knights as a senior. He completed 27 of 57 passes for 650 yards and eight touchdowns, while rushing for 1,280 yards and 11 touchdowns on 106 carries. He also returned four punts for touchdowns.
A five-star player and the No. 9 wide receiver in the country according to Scout.com, Coxson has already taken official visits to Florida and Georgia.
“I don’t think he’s going to make his decision until Signing Day,” Petrides said.
