Stoglin: 'I'm still committed to Maryland'

Just got off the phone with Tucson (Ariz.) Santa Rita point guard Terrell Stoglin, who wanted to respond to an Arizona Republic report that said he might wait until the spring to sign with Maryland.

“I just want to let everyone know that I’m still committed to Maryland,” Stoglin said. “I want to clear the air on that because apparently something came out in Phoenix that said I was thinking about [the University of Arizona]. But I’m firm with my commitment and I’m a Terrapin.”

Stoglin said he plans on signing with Maryland in November.

Great news. Can't wait to see him put on a Terps uniform

With the Skins sucking, Ravens under performing, Orioles sucking as usual, and now the Terps football on the verge of losing a head coach, at least we still have MD basketball....this Stoglin news is a big sigh of relief! Whew!! x10

yes to bball ... but dont forget the success of the md mens soccer program...awesome

Well put Terplaw. Its sad that this news is probably the highlight of the local sports week. Great news, none the less!

Terplaw the Ravens are 3-2 thats not underperforming.

pepper is right. This is great news, but can't overlook some of the other sports that are actually performing. Maryland men's & women's soccer teams are hot and field hockey is #1. Of course, I might trade all 3 of these for winning O's, Skins, Ravens and Terps football teams...

Great news - welcome to the Terps! Can't wait to see him play!

this is all good news ... a breath of fresh air (still pulling for the football guys and think soccer is the best game going right now). and, i was looking at the bb roster on the md web site. call me old school (i am, admit it), but i was delighted to see the bb team photos in their "sunday best". love it!! class act!! jack heise would be proud.

I love that there are some ladies blogging this site. Always good the have their perspective. Better than only guys writing in all the time. Keep it up ladies!

The basketball season just can't seem to come fast enough. Also, do not give up on the Ravens, they were 2 and 3 at this time last year. Still time to turn it around starting this weekend. Can't say the same thing for the UMD football team though.

Tobias and C.J....we want you at MD!
