A few things
Here's a shameless plug alert. The guys at In the Bleachers, a must-read college football blog, had me as a guest on their weekly podcast last night. Click here to listen.
The podcast includes lots of local football recruiting talk, a discussion of the Terps’ 2009 prospects, and a look at outside-the-area schools who regularly recruit the state. The co-hosts, Adam Nettina (a Mount St. Joseph grad and GoMids.com writer) and Brian Sakowski, also bring up Michigan football near the end, and I fight back tears as we discuss the 2008 debacle.
• There’s been a big push here at The Baltimore Sun to embrace social media, so a couple weeks ago I jumped on the Twitter bandwagon. It’s been an admittedly lackluster debut, but I’ll try to pick it up in the coming weeks. Click here to follow my updates.
• We also launched a local high school recruiting database recently on the site. You can search for any area athlete in almost any sport, starting with the 2008 class. Click here to check out the database.

Now I think the Sun may have just handed me the straw that broke the camel's back.I made a post on a thread I just read, and then tried o clarify it and they told me to come back I had made too many posts in too short of a time.As much as I hate MASN,I think it's time to go visit Roch.

Matt - listened to the "In the Bleachers"podcast - great stuff.
During the podcast, you mentioned the future of the quarterback position at Maryland and suggested C.J. Brown would eventually take the reigns in 2010. Wondering what your thoughts were on the kid we landed a couple of weeks ago - Tyler Smith who is also from PA. Looks like he's on the ESPN 150 watch list and there seems to be a decent amount of hype on him. Do you have any thoughts on which kid is better?

Matt C -- Thanks for listening. On Tyler Smith, he's probably the most highly touted of Brown, O'Brien and Robinson, but those three will have such a leg up after being in the system vs. Smith, who will obviously be a true freshman in 2010. But I definitely think the Terps coaches view Smith as a future starter, and having talked to him after his commitment, he's definitely not afraid of competition. It's going to be a great battle.

Whoever asked-
The poll is for Basketball. Andy Katz's final ESPN top 25. Maryland is at 17, but they comment that if the young bigs play decent out of the gate, that they could get up around 10 before league play.
They should be top 25 in football as well, but MD doesn't get a ton of respect in either sport.
