Weekend wrap -- Brown leads rout; Goree stands out

Another week, another big game for Terps quarterback commitment C.J. Brown.

Brown led Seneca Valley (Pa.) to a 42-7 win over Baldwin, piling up more than 300 all-purpose yards.

Maryland quarterback recruit C.J. Brown passed for 266 yards and rushed for 87 to lead the Raiders (2-1) to a rout of host Baldwin (0-3) in a non-conference game. Brown threw four touchdown passes and completed 13 of 16 attempts. He also scored on a 1-yard run.

• Linebacker commitment L.A. Goree helped C.H. Flowers record a 43-0 shutout over Parkdale.

Highlights: Lorne Goree recorded 14 tackles, had three sacks and three forced fumbles in a rout of the Panthers.

• Terps kicker recruit Nick Ferrara was responsible for 10 points in St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) 52-14 win over Delbarton (N.J.).

Nick Ferrara, who missed last week’s game with a foot injury, kicked the first of seven extra points to tie things at 7..

Ferrara also converted a 30-yard field goal.

• Running back D.J. Adams rushed for two four-yard touchdowns in a 19-0 Norcross (Ga.) win over Mill Creek.

Adams, who has committed to Maryland, was limited to 79 yards in 24 attempts, but Norcross’ defense kept Mill Creek from threatening. The Blue Devils recorded eight sacks and held the Hawks to nine first downs and 47 yards rushing, 143 yards total.

• UM quarterback pledge Danny O’Brien threw a five-yard touchdown pass and ran for a 32-yard score, guiding East Forsyth (N.C.) to a 35-14 win over Atkins.

Caleb Porzel rushed for 131 yards on 11 carries, including an 80-yard touchdown run, in Good Counsel’s 42-0 win over Friendship Collegiate.

Were there any recruits at the UMD-Cal game? If so, were there any comments on the atmoshpere?

Miles -- There were quite a few visitors, but I haven't seen any sort of recap.
